NGAI
- Your
National Guard Association of Illinois was organized and incorporated
on April 16, 1969 to represent both officer and enlisted members
of the Illinois National Guard. We are the only independent
organization to consistently and exclusively promote, foster,
and provide continued and improved benefits that will enhance
the well being of all active and retired Illinois National Guardsmen
and women.
Your
Association supports other state and federal organizations
and associations that favor support for the Illinois National
Guard. NGAI engages in charitable, educational, benevolent,
and civic programs.
Today
.... Through the combined efforts of our members, your association
has continued to speak for each of you in maintaining and obtaining
new benefits. NGAI has an active and vigorous Legislative Committee
working both Sate and Federal issues. We continue to monitor

The Board
of Dirctors of NGAI has established a scholarship program to
support members' families. The scholarship is open to dependents
(both children and spouses) of NGAI members in good standing.
The program will annually award one $1000.00 scholarship to
an IL Army National Guard dependent and one $1000.00 scholarship
to an IL Air National Guard dependent. In addition, a third
$500.00 scholarship sponsored by USAA Insurance and Financial
Services Company, will be awarded to a dependent of an enlisted
IL National Guard NGAI member. All three scholarship winners
will be selected from the pool of Prairie Minuteman Scholarship
applicants.
The Board
of Directors has been working hard in continuing to bring valuable
benefits to its members and this program will do just that for
years to come. NGAI's Group Life Insurance Program has been
essential in implementing this program. As many of you know,
the success of our life insurance program has allowed us to
venture into many endeavors, such as this one.
NGAI will
announce the winners each year at their annual conference in
April.
The application
states it must be postmarked 45 days prior to
the Annual Conference in April.
NGAI
is sponsoring a Critical Illness Payment Plan group policy for
the members of the Illinois National Guard. This plan can
pay cash benefits of up to $50,000 directly to you. If you are
diagnosed with a covered cancer, heart attack, stroke or any
of the ten other critical illnesses listed in the brochure,
$10,000, $30,000 or $50,000 are paid directly to you, in a lump
sum.
You don't have to be hospitalized first, and your benefits will
not be reduced by any deductible, co-payments or coordination
of benefits provisions. In fact, they're unaffected by any other
health insurance you may have.
Your spouse may also be eligible to apply. The initial premium
is based on your age. Call the administrator, Bill Goddard,
1-800-848-6169 for a brochure.

NGAUS
- The National
Guard Association of the United States was created in 1878 for
the purpose of providing united National Guard representation
before Congress. In the first constructive meeting of officers
from the North and South after Reconstruction, the organizational
meeting of the NGAUS had a goal of obtaining better equipment,
standardized training and a more combat - ready force by petitioning
Congress for resources. Today, well over a century later, the
NGAUS has the same mission.
Our goal
is to maintain the freedom and security of this nation by guaranteeing
a strong national defense through the provision of a vital dynamic
National Guard as part of the Total Force.
EANGUS
- The Enlisted Association
of the National Guard of the United States exists to "promote
the status, welfare and professionalism of the enlisted members
of the National Guard of the United States" and "promotes
adequate National Security".
EANGUS
pursues the goal of providing quality, motivated and professional
soldiers, airmen, and noncommissioned officers to the National
Guard.
